Karen Marlise Cowles has been a Clinical and Medical Electrologist for many years licensing from California in 1993. After over thirty-two years of continuing education and experience clearly that qualifies Karen to claim to be one of the few Highest Skilled Electrologist in St. Pete, Clearwater, Seminole and Largo.
What makes for the highest skilled Electrologist in St. Pete, Clearwater, Seminole, Largo and Tampa Bay. It is the state that the electrologist was trained. Some states require near nothing for training and other require many hours of hands on with Board testing. Massuchutts and California are two of the highest requirement states in the nation. Board testing ensures you know how to use the equipment correctly and that you have the skill.
Florida has no board testing and only require 250 hours which is not enough.
So we wise and look for many years experience, training, and reviews. That should tell you what you need to know.
Now to tell you what electrology is. Electrolysis refers to the destruction of the hair roots with an electric current.
I use the blend method which is two treatment working together. It is the D.C. current passing through the sterile probe (needle) causing a chemical reaction in the follicle producing sodium hydroxide (lye), which destroys the hair follicle.
The other method used is Thermolysis method. This is an A. C. current passing through the probe producing vibration in the water molecules surrounding the hair follicle which produces heat. Similar principle to a microwave. The heat kills the hair follicle as well.
I believe this to be the most effective electrology possible and the process I use. I give my very best to curing my clients as fast as possible. I am very experienced, accurate as fast as possible.
Is electrology painful? There are some areas that are sensitive like under the nose and in the genital areas. Many clients opt to use numbing agents for these areas before receiving the service. Numbing agents have to be the client’s responsible. Clients contact their primary care doctor and explain their needs and normally have zero problems obtaining Emla numbing creme for the highly sensitive areas.
